Apricots Items = 0   Price = $0.00 View Purchases

APRICOTS are problematical to grow here in central Virginia because their low chill requirements makes them susceptible to spring frosts. We are experimenting with varieties that show promise here. We are offering two fthat have done well for us and have fruited most years.

HARGLOW is a medium sized orange freestone apricot. It is late blooming, self fertile amd disease resistant. Developed at the Harrow Research Station, Canada. It was introduced in 1980. It requires 800 chill hours and this gives it a better chance of fruiting here in central Virginia.

Moorpark medium to large yellow fleshed free stone apricot.,

TOMCOT is a large orange fruit with firm, sweet orange flesh. Blossoms early. Somewhat self-fertile, but cross pollination will increase production.Ripens late June in central Virginia.
