NOTE: Our Fall 2009 catalog of fruit trees is now available . We will accept orders for shipment beginning in late November 2009, when our trees go dormant. We will lift and ship as weather permits.

Since we do not store dormant trees in cold storage, our shipping season is determined by the local weather. Where are the apples of yesteryear? Vintage Virginia Apples is growing more than 200 varieties. Most of our trees are propagated on MM-111 rootstock, which produces a tree that will grow to about 75% of a standard apple tree’s size. Characteristics include drought and disease resistance, and they do not require staking. They are tolerant of both heavy and light soils and are relatively long-lived. We also produce some varieties on M-7 rootstock which produces a smaller-sized tree, and occasionally, we will have other rootstocks as well. Please inquire if you have a particular interest. We are also offering this year a small selection of pear trees and peach trees. Pears are on OhxF rootstocks in several sizes. OhxF 97 produces a full-size tree, while the 333 and 513 have dwarfing characteristics. All are disease resistant and reasonably precocious. The peaches we offer are budded onto Lovell rootstocks and offer exceptional flavor. All budwood comes from our orchard and these selections represent some of the best we grow. We will have other varieties in years to come.
