BISHOP PIPPIN is a synonym for Yellow Bellflower, an apple that I found on first tasting to be enchanting. A wonderful, rich, tart, winey, sweet flavor asserted to be excellent for culinary purposes, as well as for dessert. The tree is marked by large showy blooms. I am still waiting to confirm this judgment, for the deer have been particularly attracted to our Yellow Bellflowers, for some reason.
