|
|
|
PLUMB CIDER has fruit of a good, medium size, fairly attractive in color, yellowish, shaded and splashed with red. Origin unknown. It was brought from Ohio in 1844 to Winconsin by Mr. Plumb, where it proved to be a good grower, hardy and productive. The flesh of this dessert apple has a greenish cast, firm, fine, breaking , juicy, brisk, subacid, good. It is also a cider apple. Beach, from whom this description comes, calls it inferior to other varieties in New York. It has yet to fruit here. |
