BAVAY GREEN GAGE
(also known as Reine Claude de Bavay) is a very good self-fertile greengage plum. It was widely grown in France, and originated in Belgium in 1832. It is one of the best gages, or old European plums. The fruit is small to medium-size, richly flavored, and very sweet. It is excellent fresh and for cooking. It is more productive in moderate winter climates than the common Green Gage. The plum has meaty flesh with a rich gage flavor and candy-like sweetness. The tree is productive and highly recommended.
