This is a yellow-fleshed freestone that shows considerable red around the pit. Harvest is approximately 27 days after Redhaven. Very smooth, tough skin. Resists browning. Hangs well on the tree, but can crack under certain weather conditions. Very good flavor juicy and firm. Good canner, freezer and shipper. Vigorous, medium large, productive tree. Tends to over set. Fair tolerance to bacterial spot. Ripens in August three days before Elberta. Requires 850 hours of chilling. Above average bud hardiness. Hardy in Zones 5-8. Introduced by the Michigan Agricultural Experiment Station in Southhaven in 1963. |
