ELBERTA is a yellow freestone peach. It has firm, yellow flesh and is ideal for canning, while equally tasty fresh. The plump,
rose-blushed fruit have a fabulous aroma and a honey-sweet taste. These peaches are absolutely
bursting with flavor. The fruit ripens in mid- to late September and are self-pollinating. The Elberta peach is juicy, sweet, very flavorful, and good for canning, freezing, or eating fresh. Also called Early Elberta, the trees bear reliable, heavy crops. The fruit earn very high taste test scores. Trees grow best in Zones 5-9. In Virginia, fruit is harvested in mid-July and early August. |
