Intrepid Peach

Intrepid

INTREPID is just plain delicious! The perfect peach to pick for peach cobbler, peach preserves or just to eat right off the tree! The yellow fleshed fruit has an excellent, sweet flavor. Intrepid is a late bloomer, boasts extreme hardiness, and has been known to withstand freezing temperatures at half to full bloom with little or no damage. An excellent yellow peach variety producing large crops of large, firm, freestone fruit. The peaches color up to red over yellow covering sweet, yellow flesh. The tree and buds are very hardy even to temps of -20°F, with a chill requirement of 1050 chill hours. Flower bud survival and fruit set are usually very high, so heavy thinning may be required to obtain large fruit size. Ripens in mid- to late-August. Hardy in zones 4-8.
