Kaunching Quince

KAUNCHING comes from central Asia in the former Soviet Union. The fruit is very sweet, tender and flavorful. It makes delicious preserves and can be eaten fresh. Kaunching is a popular variety in orchards throughout Central Asia where it is relished in meat and vegetable dishes as well as in desserts. Kaunching produces abundant crops of lemon yellow, grapefruit-size fruit, sweet enough to be eaten fresh and good for making attractive and delicious preserves and baked goods.
