MONROE is a large fruit with bright medium red skin over an orange-yellow background. Firm, mild flavored good quality freestone yellow flesh. Peach leaf curl, brown rot, peach scab and peach tree borer can be a problem. Trees are reliable producers and have shown above average tolerance to blossoming season frost. Latest peach to ripen; late August. Ripens 6-11 days after Elberta. Requires 850 hours of chilling. Cold hardy. | |
