TASHKENT came from Uzbekistan, in Central Asia, where the Quince is widely used in meat dishes and for pastries. Tashkent bears abundant crops of very large, bright yellow fruit. It is a favorite for making preserves, because the fruit is sweet and tender with a refreshing and spritely flavor. This variety grows to be an attractive small tree with a spreading form.
