WARREN
appears closely related to Magness -- and may be identical. It has adapted to conditions throughout the nation and is among the best backyard choices. The fruit is juicy and sweet with a buttery texture and very good keeping abilities. It is extremely resistant to fireblight and quite cold hardy (to -20°F). This variety was discovered in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, by noted horticulturist T. O. Warren. The fruits are medium to large, have a teardrop shape and green skin. It needs a pollenizer. Hardy in Climate Zones: 4 to 9.
